FC Barcelona fans, help has arrived. Wojciech Szczesny is officially out of retirement and will fill in as Marc Andre ter Stegen’s replacement at the Catalan club. Per reports, Szczesny’s medical has been completed, and he could be included in the matchday squad as early as next weekend.
Fabrizio Romano broke the news of Szczesny’s move being a done deal with his famous ‘Here We Go’ on Monday. One day later, he revealed that the former Poland international will also be in attendance for Barcelona’s UEFA Champions League game against BSC Young Boys.
Barcelona will host Swiss side Young Boys at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, eager to bounce back from their Matchday 1 defeat to AS Monaco. Many in the football community have pointed to Ter Stegen’s errors as key reasons for that loss.
