Carvajal was arguably one of Spain’s best players in the Euros. In a team filled with exciting talent, the Real Madrid right-back’s veteran instincts played a crucial role in both offense and defense.
There was another former Real Madrid star in Spain’s squad, who made his debut under Mourinho. Joselu made his first Real Madrid appearance against Almeria in 2011, replacing Karim Benzema in the 80th minute and scoring off a Cristiano Ronaldo assist.
However, he would only go on to make just one more appearance for Los Blancos before setting off on a journey to several clubs around Europe, before rejoining Madrid in 2023.
Carvajal will take some time off and return to training for Madrid, gearing up for the 24/25 season, but the other three have new ventures to set off on.
Joselu will join Saudi Pro League club Al-Gharafa, whereas Nacho travels to the same country to play for Al-Qadsia. Morata, meanwhile, who last played for Atletico Madrid, will join Serie A club AC Milan from this year onwards.
