Odisha vs Kerala Blasters: Tuskers Blow Two Goal Lead Against Juggernauts at the Kalinga Stadium

Fans of Kerala Blasters watching from home wouldn’t be happy with the team blowing a two-goal lead against Odisha. While the game was expected to be tough, the Blasters had put themselves in a commanding position against the Juggernauts—one from which a 2-2 draw would have been both unexpected and undesired.

Noah Sadoui opened the scoring for Kerala in the 18th minute with a stunning finesse shot from the edge of the box, set up by Jesus Jimenez. The team, energized by the early lead, pushed for a second goal, which came just three minutes later.

Sadoui returned the favor by cutting inside and delivering a pass to Jimenez, who slotted it home to make it 2-0. The traveling Manjapadda fans were ecstatic, likely feeling that three points were in the bag—enough to propel Kerala to third in the ISL table.

However, Odisha quickly got back into the game, capitalizing on a mistake by keeper Sachin Suresh. Attempting to clear a free kick, Suresh deflected the ball into Alexandre Coeff, and it crossed the line. Though Odisha’s players were unsure if it counted, the referee confirmed the goal, making it 2-1.

Just minutes later, in the 35th, star player Diego Mauricio turned the match into a goal fest by leveling the score at 2-2.

Both teams had nervy moments towards the end, with mistakes and chances on both sides. But in the end, the game finished in a 2-2 draw, leaving both sides with a point apiece.
