Kylian Mbappe’s start to life at Real Madrid has been difficult, not just because of his underperformances on the pitch, but because off it, the Frenchman has been getting the wrong kind of attention — which his entourage is absolutely furious about.
Having false stories or articles written about a footballer is nothing new and most of the times, footballers choose to ignore it. However, inaccurate links to a sexual assault cases? On that front, you can’t turn a blind eye.
A lot of publications worldwide are using Mbappe’s names just to get clicks and why not? He is among the best and most popular players, with millions following and idolizing him, with some also set on ‘hating’ him online. One thing they all know is that an Mbappe story will surely bring in eyeballs.

Media houses usually do not admit to this, but the Swedish press finally came out to talk about Mbappe’s name being used as a bait.
Sport Baldet posted an article on its website, with a sub title which read (translated from Swedish) – ‘That’s why we name Kylian Mbappe in the article’. The content inside — although not very surprising — was just bizarre.
Talking about the recent rape scandal Mbappe was falsely associated with, Sport Bladet claimed, ‘The case has great public interest, both because of Mbappe’s status and because it involves an international star visiting Sweden’.
Without reading further, you would ask yourself — is this really worth it? Well, according to websites writing about this case, it is. And they have a “reasonable” justification for the same as well.
What happens when someone makes an alarming accusation against you, which could spoil your life and career? You deny it vehemently, right? Well, Mbappe did just that and instead of it helping, it just aggravated baseless rumors.
The Real Madrid forward took to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal that false stories were being shared about him. However, the people who justify linking Mbappe to the rape case, saw this as an opportunity.

‘Mbappe himself has publicly commented on the case, which lowers the threshold for identification,’ the website wrote.
With that, the stories and the murmurs surround the incident only continue to grow tenfold, and it is very likely that Mbappe will do something about it.
There have been numerous supposed fake rumors surrounding the 25-year-old circulating all over social media. Some label him an alcoholic, while others call him a player with an attitude problem.
What remains to be seen is how Mbappe will respond, whether Real Madrid will make a statement, or if it will affect his performances once club football resumes.
