Real Madrid Not the Only Club Concerned With Injuries Ahead of Liverpool Clash

Real Madrid and Liverpool injuries

Injuries – one of the most commonly discussed football-related terms today, dreaded by fans, players, and managers alike. But it’s a reality that we must deal with. Often, the excitement surrounding big games is dampened by the physical problems faced by both sides, as will be the case in the upcoming Liverpool vs. Real Madrid match.

Madrid will be looking to bounce back from their 3-1 loss at home to AC Milan in the Champions League against Arne Slot’s men, who are flying high — both in the Premier League and in Europe.

However, this match will be missing several players, as many are out with either long-term or short-term injuries. Real Madrid, of course, will be more affected, as they are missing crucial stars like Eder Militao, Dani Carvajal, Lucas Vazquez, David Alaba, Aurelien Tchouameni, and most recently, Vinicius Junior.

There’s no doubt Carlo Ancelotti will be concerned, but that doesn’t mean Slot will have it easy. Yes, Liverpool has more of its starting XI available — most notably, its main defensive players. But there are still key absentees, and some have only just returned to team training.

Alisson, Liverpool’s star goalkeeper, is unlikely to be fit in time for the Real Madrid clash, as is Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is himself linked with the Spanish club.

Federico Chiesa, who suffered a muscle injury back in September, has had a tough start to life at Anfield. According to the Liverpool Echo, he has an “outside chance” of making the bench. Another player who will miss the fixture is Harvey Eliott, who is out with a broken foot.

While Liverpool is not expected to suffer as much from injuries as Real Madrid has this season, the absences will certainly mar what would otherwise be a highly anticipated battle between two European giants.
