East Bengal, days after parting with coach Carles Cuadrat, traveled to the JRD Tata Sports Complex to face Jamshedpur FC in what promised to be an uphill task for the red and gold brigade.
Heading into the fixtures, in their three games so far this ISL season, East Bengal has lost all three, including one at home to FC Goa.
Interim coach Bino George was looking to stabilize the morale of the club, its players, and the loud and proud (but frustrated) fanbase by securing all three points against the Red Miners.
Unfortunately, nothing went according to plan, as East Bengal lost 2-0 to Jamshedpur. A goal from Rei Tachikawa and an owngoal from Lalchungnunga capped off yet another horrible weekend for he Red and Gold brigade.
96′- FULL TIME!! Jamshedpur take home the three-points, as East Bengal suffer yet another embarrassing loss. It all ends 2-0.
88′- Freekick for East Bengal, but Cleiton Silva shoots it above the cross-bar. Chances keep going abegging for the Kolkata club, summing up their campaign so far – a season of missed opportunities.
86′- East Bengal looks tired, and defeated, and Jamshedpur show resilience. Mehdi Talal continues to push, but the sorry-looking visitors look set for their fourth successive defeat in the ISL.
69′- JAMSHEDPUR SOCRE!! 2-0. An own-goal by Lalchungnunga doubles the Red Miners’ advantage, and East Bengal’s season goes from bad to worse. Woeful defending, and a lose effort to clear the ball leads to disaster.

66′- No luck for Silva. He finds himself through on goal again, and did the right thing by aiming for the corner. Agonizingly enough, it hits the post. It remains 1-0 in favor of Jamshedpur.
64′- MISSED PENALTY. Saul Crespo, who hasn’t had a good evening, has his shot shaved by Gomes, who did not have to sweat too much to keep a rather mellow shot out.
59′- Anwar Ali makes a huge error! Jamshedpur try to capitalize, and Sanan shoots from outside the box. Debijit – much to the relief of East Bengal fans – watched it sail over, but not too far away.
52′– Saul Crespo shoots from outside the box, but it takes a deflection, and East Bengal have a corner. Jamshedpur FC hold on.
47′- New half, same story. Nandha Kumar creates space, goes forward and cuts in the ball for Talal, whose weak shot gets saved by Gomes. East Bengal keep fighting for an equalizer.

45+4′- HALF TIME. Jamshedpur lead 1-0 going into break thanks to Tachikawa’s amazing goal. East Bengal have work to do in the second half, as George leads an underconfident side into the dressing room.
45′- Nandha Kumar goes through on goal, with only the keeper Gomes to beat. Alas! He misses, and the scores remain 1-0. A disappointing finishing display from the Red and Gold in the first half.
42′- YELLOW CARD shown to East Bengal’s Yuste Canton.
36′- Another big miss from Silva. Mahesh finds him unmarked in the box, but a weak strike means the ball goes straight to the goalkeeper’s arms.
32′- Silva misses a big chance! Finding himself on the Gomes’ near side, the Brazilian blasts the ball over the cross bar again. East Bengal keep squandering opportunities to get level.
29′- Bino George’s men keep pushing for an equalizer, but things get heated as Cleiton Silva and Eze scrap inside the penalty box. Both players receive a YELLOW CARD.
21′- JAMSHEDPUR SOCRE!! 1-0: Rei Tachikawa gets the ball at the edge of the box, cuts in, and shoots a belter to score past Debjit Majumder. The Furnace erupts and East Bengal fans silenced.

19′- East Bengal gets a freekick after Naorem Mahesh Singh gets fouled by Sourav, but Mehdi Talal shoots it over the cross bar. It remains 0-0.
16′- Nandha Kumar gets a YELLOW CARD for a dive inside the box. Minimal contact from the Jamshedpur defender, and the referee had a clear view of the incident.
14′- Jamshedpur struggling to get hold of the ball. East Bengal passing the ball around well, and Talal gets another shot – this time, comfortably saved by goalkeeper Albino Gomes.
11′- Almost 1-0 for East Bengal! Mehdi Talal gets a wonderful pass, and cuts into find himself in a good space to pull the trigger. Unfortunately, he drags it wide, but a good sign for East Bengal.

5′- East Bengal has more of the possession, and are showing greater urgency than previously shown this season. Jamshedpur had one good opportunity, but the East Bengal defenders clear the ball out from the box in time. East Bengal’s only on-goal attempt came from Anwar Ali, who took a long-range shot that went narrowly above.
