Misery at Old Trafford – that summed up the atmosphere at Old Trafford on Sunday as Manchester United lost 3-0 to Tottenham Hotspur. During the game, Peter Drury being himself, dropped a tragic (for United fans) but apt line around the 90th minute of the game.
“He’s lost the game and all his friends,” the famed football commentator said on live TV, as recalled by many in the community after the game.
Some were searching for that exact moment as well, until fans shared the picture of a dejected Manchester United fan sitting at Old Trafford, with disappointment in his face, and no one around him to share it with.

The Manchester United fan in question likely had the same expression on his face from the very get-go. Brennan Johnson scored in the third minute of the game, thanks to a brilliant assist from Micky van de Ven.
Things got much worse from thereon, with Manchester United Captain Bruno Fernandes getting sent off, rather controversially. Half-time came, and the Old Trafford faithful hoped for a better performance after the interval, but boy were they crushed.
Just a minute after the restart, Dejan Kulusevski made it 2-0. Another lapse in defense from a sorry-looking backline resulted in the Swede netting in a simple, but clever goal.
United showed some fight, with Casemiro coming closest to scoring for the Red Devils around the 70th minute. However, substitute Dominic Solanke sealed the match with a 77th-minute strike, marking his third goal in as many games. It was Tottenham’s third goal of the night, securing three valuable points for the North London club.
Erik ten Hag, who is facing the barrel of a gun as United sits in 12th place in the Premier League after six games, stated once again, that his players were not good enough. At the same time, he is also confident that he won’t be sacked.
“We all made it together, this decision to stay together as ownership and leadership group in the summer,” he said as per First Post.
