Manchester United Star Wants to Make “The Goals Appear Again”

Manchester United sits 14th in the Premier League, with their offensive struggles playing a major role. Bruno Fernandes, usually a key contributor in goals and assists, has also had a slow start to the season but aims to turn things around after the international break.

Fernandes, who is now with Portugal, gearing up for its UEFA Nations League fixtures, admitted that he has underperformed with Manchester United this season.

“It’s about improving as soon as I get there,” said Fernandes (per 90 min). “Making the goals appear again because I’m a midfielder that scores a lot of goals…”

“I have to live up to those expectations and to my standards… I hope that once I get there, I can score and help my club get back to winning ways,” he added.

In 11 appearances for Manchester United this season, Bruno Fernandes has provided four assists but is yet to score. For someone who has 79 goals and 70 assists in 233 matches for the club, this has been a dismal start to a dismal year.

United has managed only five goals in the Premier League, the same as relegation-threatened Crystal Palace and just one more than Southampton, who have the league’s lowest tally.
